Baby drama

Well we had an interesting weekend starting on Thursday night. I had a scare with some bleeding, but went to the hospital and got checked out. Baby is doing great and they weren't sure why I had some bleeding as well as minor contractions- although I couldn't feel them. Since then bleeding has stopped but was told to take it easy so I wasn't able to go to the shower in NY my mom, Mrs. DeFonce and Lori had been planning for Saturday. I was pretty bummed and still am that I missed out on seeing everyone. But I know it was the right decision and I am feeling good- just tired- due to all the weight I am carrying around no less! Baby seems happy though- constantly kicking me- sometimes I feel like it has about 4 legs right in my ribs- I guess this is my payback from being a "busy" kid huh mom?
Oh well- we relaxed around the house this weekend- not much else to do with the weather so dreary and wet- so many a nap was taken by me, Jake and the animals. We did get some things done though- got the nursery somewhat organized and the guest room ready for mom- who should be arriving in the next week or so- can't wait to have her! We also picked out some fabric for curtains in the nursery with Dianne (my mother in law)- I can't wait to see what they look like. Stay tuned for pics of the nursery!

Until then enjoy the pics I posted from the shower- it was a beautiful day- thanks to Mom, Mrs. Defonce and Lori for putting it on. I truly missed out- but thank goodness Lori is a shutter bug I got some great pics!

Well I better get home for dinner- Hope everyone is well. Love, Sheila

Maine Medical Center Family Birth Center

Hello All!
Well I am sorry I have been such a slacker on posting- we have been busy and hopefully I will post more pics soon. We have had a family vacation in Cape Cod with the Sweeney crew, had some home improvements (new windows and painting in progress) and this past weekend we were able to see the new Family Birth Center at Maine Medical Center where wee one Bornstein will be delivered in November. Our friend Deb (aka Mummarocks) was kind enough to take some pics! And behold first web bump picture of me and little one. Enjoy! The center is absolutely beautiful and will make delivery much more comfortable. There are now all private rooms from prenatal to labor & delivery to recovery rooms so that is a big improvement over the existing system in place. The Family Birth Center is on 4 floors- the first floor being pre-natal - for patients on bed rest and having procedures as well as C-sections, 2nd floor is Labor and Delivery/Recovery, 3rd floor is NICU and 4th floor is Mother & Baby rooms. All of the rooms were beautiful- great colors- I am partial to earthtones and green! The biggest improvements were the all private rooms- especially the Labor & Delivery rooms- pictured- they have large jacuzzi tubs for laboring as well as private bathrooms. Jake was happy to find that all rooms have flat screen TV's w/DVDs and mini fridges. The TV's being important as we will be delivering during football season.. sigh.. men.. :) We were very impressed and feel like this will be a pretty comfortable place to deliver. Soon we start taking our childbirth classes so things are starting to get real. We can't believe we are 9 weeks out! WOW time has flown by!
Preparations in the nursery are under way-- pictures to come-- Jake has been such a great guy painting the room- we need to move furniture out and rearrange our guest room, then start setting up the crib, dresser and glider in the nursery!
So things are underway in the Bornstein house... keep checking back for more pics- I swear I will post more-- need to find the camera cord to download pics! Love to everyone, Sheila
